Dying Light's perpetual dimness starts to reflect on its people sometimes. The slums are poorly constructed from rubble, sometimes just a thatched roof and tin walls. There is a massive cathedral in the center of town, and a couple bars around, scattered between reactors that fuel the rest of Carcen. People are struggling to survive here, and sometimes, it's a hell of a fight for them.

Antio walks into the city, double checking a small map drawn out for him by an older local man. "Heh, it looks about right but the man probably couldn't remember how old his kids are let alone give directions" he said as he snickered to himself. He picks up his head and takes out his headphones and takes a peek around for anything going on.

Alyn Locke lit a cigarette, sighing. It had been almost a year that she had been in this convent, and she was getting upset. Lately, life was boring. Even the drinking hadn't been passing her time well lately, and it was just her and Jules most of the time. He was a great guy, but there was only so much you could get of anyone before you started to get tired of them. At least, that's how she felt. She took a long drag, waiting for something to happen and watching the homeless starve, discontent. She wished she could do something for them. Her eyes caught on a young man checking a map, and she shrugged. Lord knew why he was here. There wasn't anything here worth looking for.

Slightly disappointed by the surroundings he has found himself in Antio let out a drawn out sigh. He was hoping for a bit of adventure; he didn't want this trip to be another charity case. Noticing the woman sitting on the steps smoking a cigarette he figured this would be the best place to start if any. He puts on a faint smile and approaches her. Trying to use some confidence for once he looks at her with a hint of awkwardness about him. "Hello there".

She chuckled.

"What are you looking for, kid? This is hardly a place for travelers to go."

Adjusting her glasses, she looked him up and down.

"If you're here to join the convent, be my guest, we're always shorthanded. However, if you're just exploring, it's probably not the best place to be, y'know."

She didn't want this guy getting sucked into the same desolate mood that seemed to consume everything else around here. It would probably be better if he just left.

"I'd be glad to help for now"

His words just seemed to flow out as if he didn't control them.

"I'm usually not one to just lend a hand to any stranger but i got nothing better to do."

He shrugs

"But whats the story with this place? It's bleaker than anyplace I've seen or been to in quite some time."

He started noticing all the people and bars around.
It's so much like home yet so different. he thought to himself.

"From what I can gather, this used to be a flourishing tourist town. The constant twilight was seen as romantic for some, and everyone was more or less okay. It was much like any other city."

She groaned.

"But then this company put up these reactors to fuel a nearby city. They re-zoned a lot of the land, tearing down houses and markets. So many were left without any place to live. They managed to keep the Cathedral on the premise that it's a holy place, but it's a miracle they did even that. That's about all I know... I just got here a year or two back."

Alyn stood up, extinguishing her cigarette. She furrowed an eyebrow.

"But I'm surprised that you want to help. You don't seem the type to care what's going on. That being said, I'll take the hand. What's your name, kid?"

"Antio Hartlem."

He replied as a smile appeared on his face.

"I' eager to do whatever needs to be done for awhile, Like I said before, it's not like anything else is going to happen soon anyways. Besides I got nothing but time to kill."

He reached into his pocket trying to find himself a cigarette but a slight frown appeared when he realized he didn't have any.

"Damn i just ran out of cigarettes, can you tell me which way to the nearest store miss... I appologize i never caught your name."

She drew one from her pocket and threw it to him.

"Name's Alyn Locke." She winked.

"I'm going inside. When you're done, follow me. There's work to be done."

She turned, moving back towards the Cathedral, and spoke without facing him.

"Cigarettes are bad for you, you know..."

Lady Josaphine cautiously stepped into the city, remembering when Alexander had taken her here. Everything seemed different from the memory. She bit her lip, and forced herself to stay alert in this strange city.

Bartolome coughed.

He had been in this city for quite a while, waiting for a package, and he was rather upset that it hadn't yet come. He normally didn't like cities at all, but then again, he normally didn't like people that much, either.

He had been dealing with both quite a lot recently, and it annoyed him.

Bartolome was currently walking down a side street in the slums, looking for something to eat. Hunger had overtaken him, and he was becoming ill. He wished for a forest, more than almost anything right now.

Walking had tired her, but Josaphine continued walking, wondering if anyone would approach her. Rubbing her eyes, she made her way toward the slums. No one in the city had been helpful in telling her where the next largest city was, and Alexander had never shown her anywhere but the Crater.
