The Fortress Grounds

"I don't know. I was like how you found me when he left me there after....god i don't even know."

Blake looked down, angry and ashamed of himself.

He nodded, taking the chains off.

"Well, I suppose that's all I need."

He started for the door.

Blake just sat there, stunned he was being freed.
"Hey, wait!" Said Blake as he started to chase after the man.

Gunlock turned around.

"Something you wanted?"

"Why are you letting me go? What are you going to do? and...only cause it's bothering me now but....what is your name?" Blake asked quickly and curiously.
Blake realized how stupid this was but if there was any way he could find out something about anything! he would be happy. Though he knew, the more he knows the more he wants to find out.

"Christ, you are incessant, aren't you? I threatened you with torture! Why in the nine hells do you care what I'm going to do? Fine!" He shook his head. "My name is Christopher Chamberlain. My operative name is Gunlock. I'm going to go find Svulkaine and destroy him. I'm letting you go because you couldn't harm me if you damn well wanted to and as for why I'm doing this, I'm taking orders." He sighed.

"I just spoke more than I have in the past ten years. What the hell do you want?"

"You've never spoken that much in 10 years?!?! No wonder you're like this." Blake said mainly to himself. "And I want answers to what the hell is going on. And I might not beat you but if I used that I could at least put up a good fight. I was able to fight off Guil...something i dont remember. But he was weakened so it wasn't a fair fight." Blake was rambling at this point but shook his head to make himself stop. "Sorry, just, I can't go back to where I came from and you're now the only person I know that I can...." Realizing what he was saying made no sense Blake stopped and held out his hand. "I'm blake. Blake Waters."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Blake. Now shut the bloody hell up." Chris blinked. This was to be his traveling companion, he assumed.

"If you can be quiet enough, I won't kill you for coming with me."

"Really? I can go with you? Great!" Blake was glad to be able to do some traveling. It would take his mind off things. Blake stretched his arms up in the air, he was rather sore with good reason. Realizing that his shirt had a hole in it mid stretch he blushed slightly and instantly brought his arms back down and crossed them in front of his chest.

Gunlock hadn't noticed, he was walking towards the Academy.

Blake followed behind Gunlocke, not fully realizing that they were going after Svulkaine.

It was a relatively quiet walk, given that Chris hadn't spoken personally to someone for pretty much his entire life. It was strange, knowing someone that wasn't teaching him things, wasn't paying him, and that he wasn't trying to kill.

This will be interesting....I like to talk....
Blake stayed silent for as long as he could. Finally, after a few minutes of walking in an akward silence Blake jogged a bit so he was walking next to Chris.
"So," started Blake. "those bullets really stop your blood?

Chris nodded slowly. "Yes, I wasn't lying. They do, indeed, stop your blood. Why do you ask?"

"It's just cool that bullets can do that. And I've been there. It is not fun...." Blake felt the hysterics strting to come on again and tried to stay calm. He tightened his arms tighter around his chest to try and stop or hide the shaking and took a few silent deep breaths. No way was he gunna let that happen again.

Gunlock stopped.

"Your blood has been stopped before?"

"Yeah, throughout my whole body...." Blake stopped as well and looked back. "What?"

"How did that happen?" He was confused.

"Svulkaine....he can do this awesome stuff with blood. Though...that sucked...." Blake closed his eyes and tried to fight off the memory.

"I thought you said you were allied with Svulkaine... Why would he hurt a comrade?"

Chris blinked.

"Well, I was with him yeah but that was also the first time I met him. And I kinda pissed him off. But he was pissing me off casue he could control my body after he drank my blood and I can't just let that go even if he can kill me so I pissed him off and then he stopped my blood and...." Blake stopped, forcing his mind not to relive that moment.

Chris shook his head, confused. "Alright, alright, just stop. I got what I needed to know." He sighed. "You really do talk too much, you know that?"

Shrugging Blake said, "I'm dead anyway. I don't care what happens at this point. The only thing i care about is knowing what's really going on. I was just thrown into all this..."

He shook his head.

"I'm not sure anyone knows what's going on here... It's all muddled."

"Well, what do you know?" asked Blake, ready to try and put what puzzle pieces they have together.
